Who we are

Winnie Wishes Trust (“JMjm Trust”), a trust registered in Kenya (No. TPS-5WC6QD6), P.O. Box 50199-00100, Nairobi, is responsible for personal data collected through this website. Contact: winniewishestrust@gmail.com.

What we collect today

  • Technical data. When you visit, our hosting provider (Cloudflare) processes your IP address, browser type and the pages you request, to deliver the website and protect it from attacks. We do not use this data to identify you.
  • Contact form messages. When you use the form on our home page, we receive your first name, last name, email address and message. They are saved in a database that our hosting provider (Cloudflare) runs for us, and sent to our email inbox.
  • Messages you send us by email or post.

We do not use cookies, tracking pixels or advertising tools, and we do not sell or share personal data for marketing.

Donations and sign-up forms

Online donations and volunteer sign-up are not open yet. Before they open, we will update this notice to explain what we collect, why, and who processes it - for example, payment providers.

Why we use your data

  • To run and secure the website - our legitimate interest.
  • To reply to you - because you asked us to.

Who receives it

Our hosting provider (Cloudflare), which also stores contact form messages and delivers them to our inbox, and our email provider (Google, for Gmail). Cloudflare runs a global network, so technical data may be processed outside Kenya; we rely on the safeguards in the provider’s data-processing terms.

How long we keep it

Messages, including contact form messages: as long as needed to answer you, and no longer than 12 months unless you go on to work with us. Contact form messages are deleted from the database automatically after 12 months. Technical data: for the short period set by our hosting provider.

Do you have to give us data?

No. You can use this website without giving us any personal data. If you write to us, we need your contact details to reply.

Your rights

Under Kenya’s Data Protection Act, 2019 you have the right to be told how your data is used, to see it, to object to its use, and to have false or misleading data corrected or deleted. Write to us at winniewishestrust@gmail.com. You can also complain to the Office of the Data Protection Commissioner: www.odpc.go.ke. If you live in the EU, you also have your rights under the GDPR and may contact your local data protection authority.

Children

This website is not aimed at children, and we do not knowingly collect children’s personal data online. We do not publish personal details of children in our programmes; photographs of children on this site are stand-in images.

Changes

When this notice changes, we will update it here and change the date above.
